Alessandro Freddi received the M.S. degree in “Electronic Engineering” in 2008 and the Ph.D. in “Automation, Information and Management Engineering” in 2012 from Università Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona, Italy). He worked as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione at the same University, where he was appointed as temporary Professor of “Measurements and Instrumentation for Automation” since 2013. From 2014 to 2017 he worked at Università degli Studi eCampus (Como, Italy) as Assistant Professor and member of the SMART Engineering Solutions & Technologies (SMARTEST) research centre.
He is now Assistant Professor at Università Politecnica delle Marche where he teaches “Measurements and Instrumentation for Automation”, and he is founding member of “Syncode”, a startup operating in the field of industrial automation.
His main research activities are fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control with applications to robotics and automation systems, and development and application of assistive technologies. He published more than 60 papers in international journals, books and/or conferences (full list is accessible by clicking the Google Scholar, Scopus and Researchgate images on the right side of this page) .
He has been committee member for 4 scientific conferences, editor of a book published by IET on assistive technologies, editor of a special issue promoted by MDPI Sensors journal on the topic of intelligent home automation. He is currently associate editor of Springer Intelligent Service Robotics and reviewer for several international scientific journals. From 2012 to date he has taken part in 4 research projects, on the fields of automation and assistive technologies. Finally, he collaborates with several companies in the field of automation, and since 2016 especially on the aspects of diagnosis and predictive maintenance.
