Antonino Cataldo

Research Fellow

Capsule Bio

Dr Antonino Cataldo received the Master degree in chemistry (with a specialization in physical chemistry, marks 110/110 cum laude) at the University of Palermo, Italy, in 2011, and the Ph.D. in chemistry (working on structural and functional properties of nanocomposites) in 2015.
During the PhD, he worked as research fellow at Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati – INFN, in the nanotechnology group NEXT, (Prof S. Bellucci).
He was research fellow at University of Chieti Pescara (2016/2018) and at Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati – INFN (2018/2019)
Since June 2019, he is research fellow at Department of Information Engineering (DII, Polytechnic University of Marche) involved in the UE project “Artificial permittivity and permeability engineering for future generation sub wavelenght analougue integrated circuits and systems” – NANOPOLY. In particular, he will develop new simulation methods for components based on meta and nano materials, and characterization on meta-materials e 2D materials.
He has 544 citations (h-index:12) and more than 40 papers in international peer reviewed journal.

Research Areas:

His experimental activities concerns nanoscience of carbon materials: preparation of Carbon Nanotube and Graphene using different techiniques (CVD, MW exfoliation); microscopic, spectroscopic, electrical and alectrochemical characterization of nanomaterials; nanocomposite materials for EMI shielding, electrochemical and sensor application; microgravity effects on living cells; supramolecular chemistry for stabilization and drug delivery systems; environmental remediation; characterization of soft matter and colloidal systems with small angle scattering techniques.
From 2013 he is member of Local Organizing Committee of the international workshop “Nanoscience and Nanotechnology” located in Frascati (Italy).
