Francesca Pia Villani was born in San Giovanni Rotondo (FG), Italy, on March 12, 1993.
In July 2020 she received her Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering at Università Politecnica delle Marche, with a thesis on the development of an augmented reality system based on marker tracking for robotic-assisted minimally invasive spine surgery.
In November 2020 she started her PhD in Humanism and Technologies at University of Macerata and is due to defend her thesis titled “Unveiling healthcare data archiving: Exploring the role of artificial intelligence in medical image analysis”.
She is currently a post-doc researcher at Università Politecnica delle Marche working on artificial intelligence applied to medical image analysis, including, among others, endoscopic images, magnetic resonance images, ultrasounds images, and computed tomography images.
