Capsule Bio

Gianluca Fabi was born in Ancona (Italy) on 27th December 1992. He received his B.S. degree (summa cum laude) in 2015 from Marche Polytechnic University, Ancona, Italy, and his M.S. degree (summa cum laude) in 2017 from Politecnico di Torino, Torino, Italy, both in Electronics Engineering. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the Department of Information Engineering of Marche Polytechnic University, Ancona, Italy, with a scholarship financed by the US army. During his studies he spend some period abroad at the Grenoble Institute of Technology, Grenoble (France) in 2017 as intern and at the Lehigh University Bethlehem (USA – Pennsylvania) in 2018 as a Ph.D. student.


Research Areas:

His current research focuses on investigation of local electrical properties of soft and hard matter by means of scanning microwave microscopy techniques. The experimental nature of the topic is accompanied by the development of theoretical models required to evaluate sample physical properties. His recent studies are mainly focused on the high frequency characterization of biological samples and solid materials for electronic applications.
