Data and Network Security

Description
Data and network security represents a fundamental asset in the information age. The research group carries out scientific and applied research activities on algorithms and protocols for the security of data both at rest and in transit. A special focus is devoted to post-quantum cryptosystems, that is, cryptographic systems able to withstand attacks exploiting quantum computers. Within this context, the research group has developed the code-based post-quantum cryptosystem named LEDAcrypt, which has been considered by NIST for standardization. In addition, physical layer security protocols are studied and developed by the research group for exploiting the intrinsic characteristics of communication channels in order to achieve secure transmissions. As a further area of applied research, the group studies and develops solutions based on the blockchain and distributed ledger technology for data and network security.
