Stefano Marni

PhD Student

Capsule Bio

Stefano Marni received the master’s degree in Physics (cum laude) in 2020, from Università degli Studi di Milano, with a thesis entitled “Interactions between DNA oligomers with random sequences”.  He continued his research activities at the same university, at the Department of Medical Biotechnology and Translational Medicine, until October 2021. In November 2021 he became a PhD student at Università Politecnica delle Marche, in the SIMAU Department (Scienze e Ingegneria della Materia, dell’Ambiente ed Urbanistica).

Research Areas:

His main research fields concern with soft matter and biophysical systems, mainly investigated via optical techniques, supported by theoretical modelling. The topics include the newly discovered ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals and of their interaction with surfaces, and the interactions of nucleic acids in complex systems.
